We all have our favorite games that were cancelled for whatever reason or the servers shut down. Some of us have been waiting years to see these favorites return, to no avail. We’ve decided to rank the top 7 games we really want to see again.
A sequel for this game has been in discussions since 2008, with the director reaffirming that it supposedly is in the works at least once a year. This uncertainty has left fans on edge, which is why Beyond Good & Evil is coming in at number 7 of the top games we want to see brought back.
Heavenly Sword has had a sequel in the works for years and is adored by fans for its emotionally charged story and combat that resembles a martial arts game. While Sony still cares about the game, so much so that they included the main character in their PlayStation All-stars Battle Royale, the developer seems uninterested, leaving fans wanting more.
The Gex games, a series published in the 90’s featuring a wise-cracking Gecko who has to save the television universe, is a long time fan favorite. In recent years, the games were re-released on the Playstation store, but some fans are still waiting to see a new story on the horizon. That’s what puts Gex on our list for top 7 games we are dying to see make a comeback.
4. The Sims Online
The Sims is a long-running game franchise published by Electronic Arts. In 2002, they came out with an online version of their life simulator, and fans were ecstatic. It was a different take on a beloved game. Sadly, servers were shut down in 2008. There are other MMO-life simulators out there, but nothing can beat what The Sims Online offered through its more challenging city rules and dedication to its stylized gameplay, and many hope an online option will be included in future games.
The Metroid Prime Trilogy is a series Nintendo has returned to time and time again, and is one of the few first person shooters on the Wii U platform. Dedicated fans are tired of playing the same game over and over, and are ready for new content to enjoy their old favorite.
2. Silent Hill
Only having been cancelled earlier this year, Silent Hill has caused a lot of waves. Though the developers say they are interested in future Silent Hill titles, they are not going to revisit their current plans with television star Norman Reedus. Whether or not future developments in the series are true, fans are losing it. Petitions are being spread, calling for the return of the game. Only time will tell.
Megaman has been loved by so many gamers throughout the years. Originally a 2D side-scroller, Megaman grew to 3D with Megaman Legends. Though a crossover with Street Fighter was released in 2010, fans want more. A Kickstarter campaign was recently funded with the claim to attempt a copy-cat sequel, but who knows how fans will react to that. All of this leaves Megaman as the number one game fans are waiting to see more of.
