There’s A New Season of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm!’

‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ released a new trailer for yet another season. Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 10, can you believe it? They’ve announced that the first episode will air on January 19, 2020.

Fans have waited for a long time for the latest season of the Emmy winning comedy.

I, for one, am one of these fans.

I’ve watched the show since it came out and I still haven’t fallen off. That’s an accomplishment for me as I tend to get bored by many shows and never return.

Surprisingly, they always come out with new and relevant scenarios every single season.

Believe me; the show is pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

What to Expect

Season 10 will thankfully feature regulars such as the hilarious Larry David, the angry Susie Essman, the amiable Cheryl Hines, the jovial Jeff Garlin, JB Smoove, and Richard Lewis. The season might also have had a recurring role for Marty Funkhouser, Larry’s neighbor, but sadly Bob Einstein, the actor who portrayed Funkhouser, passed away in January 2019.

Funkhouser was a great addition to the show, and will most certainly be missed.

The show has been on hiatus since 2017. We thought that it would be the last season.

But there’s still light in the world and whoever is in charge, made the right decision to keep it going.

The Teaser Trailer

The teaser trailer appeals to its loyal audiences and may attract a new fan base as well. It shows David staring at a toaster waiting impatiently for the toast to pop out, only as time moves on he grows irritated with the appliance, grunts finally gives up and walks away. The text on the screen appears. “We Can’t Wait Either.”

That’s an understatement.

The Synopsis

HBO released its official synopsis for season 10 of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ calling it a “chain of misfortune to hilarious effect.”

Since the plot of the series revolves around the routine life of the public figure Larry David, and his not so public personal life, or at least a fictional version of it, the series is shot without a script. This technique keeps the storyline lively, with audiences unable to guess the responses of the characters.

Remember that improv may not be a natural art form as actors are only given an outline of the scene and shown the set; what happens next is up to their improv abilities.

Accolades

Throughout the nine seasons, the show has won 43 Emmy award nominations from which it won Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series in 2003, and in 2012 the Emmy for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series.

Curb your Enthusiasm has also been nominated five times for the Golden Globes, from which in 2003, it won Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy.

Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that Larry David is legendary.

You probably already know this but Larry David is famous for co-creating the show Seinfeld. People even say that he was the inspiration for the character of George Costanza.

David made the series along with producers Gavin Polone, Jeff Schaffer, and Garlin. David himself is a producer, with Jon Hayman and Carol Leifer working as consulting producers.

My Thoughts

I think that the show should have a larger following, its a classic truly brings out the comedic genius of people Like Larry David, Jeff Garlin, and others on the set. I figured that I would be disappointed by the prior season because I didn’t know if they could still bring the same magic to set. To my surprise, ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ stayed relevant with the times and everyone’s still as funny as ever.
