Review: My Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear…

Some really cool shades! 

As the Managing Editor of Geek Insider, I get quite a lot of requests for product review consideration and as such, I’m kind of picky with what I say yes to. So, when not too long ago Yesglasses offered to send me a pair of sunglasses and even had the option to add my prescription to it (a feature I wish I had included now), I admittedly was rather slow on entertaining the offer.

I happen to like a certain style of sunglasses and have had a favorite pair for quite a while now (pictured below), so I was also skeptical about them being able to replace them. 

I get a lot of compliments on them. Seriously.

So, as I said, I was slow to respond.

However, once I took the time to visit the Yesglasses site, it was super easy to find a retro-vintage style that was really close to the red pair I’ve been wearing for years.

Then, I started looking at the color options.

Ah HA!

No red!

But then I saw the Dark Purple option, which happens to be my absolute favorite color.

There’s also a really cool-looking Dark Green that I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on and this style is also available in Dark Brown, Dark Gray, Dark Blue (another one I love), and Dark Pink (which I would also rock!)

 Anyway, I told my contact to send me the Dark Purple pair and I have to say, their shipping was nice, fast, and smooth. Once I opened the shipping box and I saw the case (which I can’t find right now due to a move or else I would share a pic), I was immediately impressed with the quality. It wasn’t just a bubble-wrapped pair of sunglasses in a cheap box. It’s a storage box you’re going to want to keep them in when not in use.

HEY… do as I say, not as I do!

I opened the case and immediately (yes, seriously) fell in love with them. 

I wear sunglasses quite a lot and these Clear Retro-Vintage Thin Round Tinted Sunglasses are really nice. One of the biggest problems with my red pair above is that they actually turn the world red! Red cars are orange. Digital signs with white lettering appear red. Orange trucks are a wild-looking red I don’t think is on any vehicle. And, well, you get the picture.

But that isn’t the case with this pair from Yesglasses.com. They work like a normal pair of sunglasses and simply tint away the sun and glare and I really like the amount of shading. Not too light and not too dark.

Now I get a good deal of compliments on these!

Annnnnnd… my red pair have been relegated to the glove box for emergency use.
