There’s growing excitement for our livestreaming event on April 11-12th and we’re happy to present so many people from the Geekdom of comic books, authors, filmmakers, small businesses and marketing, and more – but the area that has people buzzing are the cosplayers.
This is your opportunity to get dressed, get in character, and get online to interact with fellow cosplayers and convention fans.
Why are Cosplayers so important to the convention experience?
People who dress as their favorite movie, comic book, illustrated or animated series characters give the rest of us a full immersion experience at a bricks and mortar convention. They interact with the crowd, the vendors and other cosplayers, often making memories and new friends with every event they attend.
If the organizers, vendors and sponsors are the bones of a convention, the cosplayers and attendees are the life blood and personality. And so too is our hope for Geek Out Virtual Con.
How’s it going to work?
Geek Out Virtual Con has two 2-hour segments that are dedicated to cosplayers.
Saturday April 11 from 6 – 8 PM ET
Sunday April 12 from 5 to ? PM ET
Our special host, Leo Nocedo of Nocedo Photo and Florida Geek Scene has been instrumental in talking to his cosplayer connections and he has been putting together a line up of people who are participating in their own unique way.
We are using Streamyard and will be simulcasting to several locations around the internet!
The limitations of Streamyard
Unfortunately, we can’t have a lot of people on camera at the same time. Streamyard limits up to 6 people in the “room” with 4 more in the queue (off camera). Because of this, we’re trying to get as many people to come on and rotate them off. It’s going to be hosts’ choice and up to Leo to share the access link.
This is the first time we’ve attempted to do such a huge livestreaming event so we expect that there will be hiccups and bumps along the way. The overall response has been wonderfully positive thus far and we are very much looking forward to having a lot of fun this weekend.
