Disney Says Star Wars Will Go On
Fans of Star Wars may get to indulge in further Star Wars related content.
Well, why not?
You’ve seen the recent success of the recent Star Wars and other films under the Disney umbrella.
The company notes in its recent earnings call that “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which concluded the nine episode Skywalker saga and Frozen 2, became the highest grossing animated movie of all time, was more than $1.4 billion in global sales, surpassing the original Frozen, which held the record since 2014. The Rise of Skywalker and Frozen 2 along with Captain Marvel, Aladdin, The Lion King, Toy Story 4, and the biggest movie of all time, Avengers: Endgame contributed to a total global box office for the year for Disney of more than $11 billion.”
The company further notes, with exuberance that they’ve decimated their prior industry record of $7.6 billion in 2016. Their beloved movies will be present on Disney+, if not already there, pretty soon.

Disney is becoming a Thanos with the rights to many of these amazing characters that we’ve loved for decades. I even completely forgot about Disney with it’s acquisition of Pixar and holdings of movies like Toy Story, too. But the company still must focus on how they will deliver value to their growing audience. As I keep on saying, the streaming wars are going to be huge and content is going to decide who wins.
We will get to see fresh and amazing content from places that we love such as Pixar and other compelling brands under the Disney umbrella, even Nat GEO.
Disney and Extensions of Current Brands
The mouse is planning for the future by looking at compelling storylines for shows and movies.
Remember that they’ve mentioned Loki, The Falcon, and Winter Soldier will be available later this year. But Star Wars will continue to be an ongoing theme. Executives from Disney confirmed that that they’ll bring back the Mandalorian, but who’s surprised there, right?
The extension of Star Wars, The Mandalorian will be back in October.

Remember that isn’t just going to be an extension of The Mandalorian but even further spin-offs of current characters and new one’s that the company will add to the script.
Iger from Disney hinted at developing further characters and giving them their own series. They want to back off from diluting their audience with more Star Wars films for now and will focus on looking at further opportunities for Disney+.
