XBox One and Playstation 4 Games: What to Expect in 2014

2014 is finally here, and we all know what that means. The start of a new year means only the beginning of our anticipation for a number of video games scheduled to be released. A decently sized increase in the number of Xbox One and Playstation 4 games is expected before the end of the year.

Players of both systems can expect an increase of existing games available to them. Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition is one such game and will be released for both XBO and PS4 on January 28th, 2014. Tomb Raider for XBO and PS4 is expected to feature updates to the game, and its trophy list has already been released here. The game’s prior reviews exceeded expectations, and excellence on XBO and PS4 is expected.

Next Gen Games: What to Expect

Other existing games to expect for XBO and PS4 in 2014 include Call of Duty: Ghosts and Grand Theft Auto 5, both of which are expected to release early in the year.

Of course, XBO and PS4 won’t just be getting other consoles’ hand-me-downs. Both systems will be getting some games exclusive to them as well as new games being released on multiple systems. Players of both systems (as well as PS3 and XBox 360) can look forward to Destiny, which is expected to release on September 9th, Final Fantasy XV, to be released after March of 2014, and Thief, which will be released in North America on February 25th. Also, after nearly three years of waiting, XBox One players (as well as XBox 360 and PC players) can look forward to the release of Titanfall on March 11th.

Driveclub, which will be released on February 22nd, will be exclusive to the Playstation 4 system. It will be joined on March 21st by Infamous: Second Son whose franchise originated on the Playstation 3 platform. The Order: 1886 will also be exclusive to PS4 and will be released later on in the year.

XBO is also expecting the release of some exclusive games. Sunset Overdrive and Kinect Sports Rivals are both expected to release in the first or second quarter of this year.

So there you have it. The anticipation for Xbox One and Playstation 4 games is highly justifiable. Happy New Year and, more importantly, happy gaming.
