In the world of Android smartphones, perhaps nothing comes closer to the brilliance and status of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S line. It is for a good reason as well: With extensive features, expensive design, and the latest technology, the Galaxy S lineup is in a class of itself.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is currently the most-prized member of this family. According to global smartphone sales results, Samsung’s star offering has held its own against massive expectations to come out on top as the most popular luxury Android phone of Q1 2023.
Galaxy S23 Ultra Holds Up to Its Big Name
While the Q1 2023 smartphone sales results have four different models of Apple’s iPhone topping the list, the Galaxy S23 Ultra sales performance still manages to secure the phone a spot in the Top 5. This makes it the best performing Android phone of the year so far in high-end smartphones that cost over $500.
The Samsung S23 Ultra is priced at a whopping $1,199, putting it at an even more expensive price tag from the $1,099 that the iPhone 14 Pro Max has to offer. But according to various reviews from experts and smartphone users, Samsung’s costly flagship is definitely worth the price.
Samsung S23 Ultra Offers a Breathtaking Experience to All User Groups
Apart from a 6.8” screen with a 3088 x 1440 resolution, the Samsung S23 Ultra also offers exciting storage and options that start from a 256GB storage + 8GB RAM and go all the way up to 1TB storage + 12GB RAM. With a 200MP main camera that is enhanced with 10MP periscope, 10 MP telephoto, and 12 MP ultrawide lenses, it offers breathtaking details in almost every type of setting. Add 8K video capturing to the mix, and you have got yourself a winner like no other.
Adding weight to these features is the exclusive and purpose-built Qualcomm SM8550-AC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which further ensures that the Samsung S23 Ultra delivers unparalleled performance to everyday consumers, content creators, and power users alike.
All Android Smartphones That Made the Top 10 Were From Samsung
Besides reveling in the Galaxy S23 Ultra sales performance, Samsung has other reasons to celebrate the Q1 2023 results. Even if none of its products could topple the iPhone as the reigning champion of high-end smartphones, Samsung still remained the only Android smartphone manufacturer to have its phones included in the Top 10 best selling high-end smartphones for the period.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra rounded out the top five list that was won by the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14, and iPhone 13 that held the 1st-4th spots. However, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy Z Flip4 secured the 7th, 9th, and 10th spots on the list, respectively. The only other Android smartphones in the Top 20 were Xiaomi 13 at the 18th and Mate 50 at the 19th spot.
The list, which was distributed by market analyst firm Canalyst, also showed that high-end smartphones of over $500 in value showed a 4.7% increase in market share as compared to last year. With that being said, the overall smartphone sales took a hit around the world, dropping by 13.3% year-over-year.
