Jack Streat’s Guide to Building LEGO Gun Replicas

Are you looking for a new hobby that will expand your creativity and bring you back to your childhood? What’s the first thing that comes to mind? That’s, right. LEGOS. There’s really no end to what you can create with a diverse collection of the plastic bricks. Since they came into your life at a tender age, you have built things like Star Wars ships, cars, planes and buildings, but that is all child’s play.

Time to Take It to the next Level

You can do that with this awesome book: LEGO Heavy Weapons: Build Working Replicas of Four of the World’s Most Impressive Guns. It contains a a 368-page guide to building full-scale replicas of four guns: The Desert Eagle, AKS-74U, Lee Enfield Bolt-Action and a Pump-Action SPAS Shotgun. I know what you are thinking, isn’t 368 pages a little much for just four guns? At first glance, that seems to be the case, but you are not building simple molds here; you are constructing every part of the gun, from the trigger to the receiver.

Each guide begins with a history and a detailed look at the mechanics of the gun, so you are familiar with how everything works before you build it. Then it gives you a complete bill of the materials that you will need for the project, listing the color, style and quantity of each brick. The book also lets you know where you can find bricks in bulk and at cheaper prices. Once you’ve got the materials together and a basic understanding of your project, you can start following the guide, piece by piece.

The book was written by LEGO weapons mastermind Jack Streat, who you may recognize from his YouTube videos. Just like his videos, each gun that you build will be able to fire small LEGO bricks through the barrel.
