Craveable Fictional Foods

If you’re anything like me, you often find yourself seated in front of your television, craving a  tasty snack following a long day of phone calls and paperwork. Watching most anything on your screen of choice when famished can lead to a desire for even the strangest of cuisines; spend an hour with Bizarre Foods at two in the morning and you’ll understand immediately.

Everything Mentioned in Harry Potter

The magical world presented to us by J.K. Rowling provides a tempting fictional food at every corner. Fried sausages, buttered toast, sundaes, sugar quills, and pumpkin juice all get my mouth watering. But there are a few key players that have become most popular within the fandom.

Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans can be found in grocery stores and candy shops in many countries due to their high demand (in fact, you can buy them here!). Do I want to bite into a black pepper or vomit flavored bean? Well, no, but that’s the fun of it. It’s difficult to tell the difference between a lemon and a rotten egg in this case. When you are lucky enough to pluck out a Tutti-Frutti, or even an earwax so you can reenact Dumbledore’s scene, it’s a great moment.

Butter-beer-mug--jennaflower

Butterbeer is possibly the most beloved consumable item to come out of the Potter universe. There are dozens of recipes on the internet to try out, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. Since the opening of the themed park in 2010 though, the world has had a taste of true butterbeer, and it is delicious. The park also offers an entire shop, Honeydukes, for visitors to purchase sweet treats from the series. Magical, indeed.

Liz Lemon’s Favorites

Liz loves her some tasty treats. We saw it in the pilot episode of 30 Rock where she purchases $150 worth of hot dogs, and we saw it when she chose an evening with mozzarella sticks over a hot date.

The Cheesy Blaster is a concoction of Lemon’s that sounds pretty strange and awful, but that I think could be modified to be something fun. You take a hotdog, stuff it with some jack cheese, and fold it in a pizza. Greasy and unhealthy? Yes. But, Liz Lemon just rolls that way.

Sabor de soledad

Sabor de Soledad are Mexican bargain cheesepuffs that can sometimes be the cause of a false pregnancy test due to the presence of bull semen in the ingredients.

The Burgers

Krabbie Patties can actually be found in some stores, but unfortunately only in candy form. Maybe someday someone will steal the recipe from Mr. Krabs and start up their own restaurant.

Goodburger

Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, can I take your order? YES! Gimme wanna dose!

Miscellaneous Munchies

Lembas looks tasty and has promising weight loss possibilities. Legolas states that the one bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man. Impressive.

Futurama_044

Made on the planet Wormulon, Slurm is Fry’s favorite soda. Slurm’s slogan is “It’s highly addictive!” because, well, you just can’t stop drinking it once you’ve tried it. This Futurama fictional beverage can be spotted throughout the series on delivery trucks and posters.

The Swanson is simple enough. It’s a turkey leg wrapped in bacon, and watching Ron from Parks and Recreation devour one is incredibly envy inducing.

If you don’t know what Duff Beer is, that rock you’ve been living under must have horrible TV reception. Even those not be big on beer can attest to interest in this drink.

As long as there are TV shows and movies, there will be characters needing to eat and drink, and we will be there to drool over their foodie finds.

I’ll take two The Swansons to go. Check, please!
