Coverage of Sony’s Playstation 4 Announcement
This evening, in NYC, Sony announced its latest generation console, the Playstation 4. In the Hammerstein Ballroom in midtown Manhattan, Sony gave the announcement followed by a long list of upcoming games as well as specs for the console.
6:25 pm: Mark Cerny talks about ease of use for game developer and how Sony is building the PS4 on top of PC architecture.
6:30pm: Cerny talks about video compression and how sharing videos will be as simple as pressing a button. New DualShock Controller sports first social sharing button. PS Vita Integration announced.
7pm: DriveClub announced as a planned title followed by a demo. Killzone is announced as a planned title, as well.
7:15pm: The Witness is announced as a planned title followed by a demo. ShadowFall is announced as a planned title, as well.
inFamous: Second Son is announced as a planned title. Panta Rhei engine is announced.
7:25pm: Move controller is announced as a simple way for gamers to create 3D animation. Demo follows.
Destiny is announced as a planned title.
7:40pm:Â Watch Dogs is announced as a planned title. Deep Down is announced as a planned title. Blizzard strikes a deal with Sony,
Diablo 3 planned for PS4.
Much to the dismay of the general public, the actual console was not shown. There was also no information on pricing or availability.
