OSRS P2P Money Making Guide

Money making on a P2P account in OSRS is very easy. The list of things you can open up on a free account but not all methods are efficient. We’ve rounded up the best ways to earn money on a free account in the game.

Money makes Gielinor go around. If you’re on a paid account in OSRS, you’re in luck as there are lots of money-making methods that you can try. Of course, not all of these methods are efficient that’s why we’ve made a list of only the ones that are worth doing. Whether you’re new to the game or are a seasoned veteran, these methods are highly recommended.

Hunting Black Chinchompas

Once you reach the black chinchompa hunting grounds, you can start by eliminating one chinchompa. This will allow you to pinpoint its respawn location so that you can strategically set traps around the area. Dispose of any stray chinchompas immediately and reset traps as needed. As this is within the Wilderness area, expect lots of risks. With minimal interference from player killers, you can capture approximately 350 chinchompas per hour.

To make your chances of survival higher, equip tanking gear like Dinh’s bulwark and Karil’s this will give you good bonuses against PKers. Activate protection prayers, particularly Protect from Magic and Protect Item, as your quick prayers before entering the area as well. Be ready to switch between overhead prayers based on the attackers’ methods. Augury or Mystic Might can further enhance your defensive capabilities.

For quick escapes, you should use the royal seed pod and charged dragonstone jewellery to teleport you to safety within level 30 Wilderness or below. You can easily replace the royal seed pod if lost.

To prevent potential losses without returning to the bank, use a charged imp-in-a-box to swiftly transport stacks of black chinchompas directly to the bank when you’re within or below level 30 Wilderness.

Assuming you’re able to hunt 350 black chinchompas per hour, you’re looking at a profit of over 1 million.

Smithing Rune Items

This method is actually applicable to P2P and F2P players. However, since it’s such an easy and efficient way to earn money, it’s going to be included on this list. As the name suggests, you simply have to smith rune items. You can start doing this once you reach level 99 in Smithing. Getting to that level on a P2P account is way easier compared to doing it on a free account.

Assuming you’re able to make 900 items per hour, you’re going to make a profit of 640,000. You can start smithing runite bars into rune 2-handed swords, platelegs, and plateskirts. These are low-effort items to make as well so this method is pretty low-intensity.

The best way to do this is in the Varrock west bank for F2P. However, if you’re on a P2P account, had to Prifddinas instead. It’s 2 ticks faster per inventory. Get a hammer and 27 runite bars, head to the anvil and then smith your item of choice. Once you’re done, sell the item on the Grand Exchange or even with other players.

If you want to increase the rate of your smithing, make sure to wear the Smith’s uniform from the Giants’ Foundry. A piece of the outfit has a 20% chance to increase your Smithing action on an anvil by 1 tick. A full set gives you 100% chance to speed things up.

Killing Zulrah

If you’ve been playing OSRS for quite a while now, then you probably know that Zulrah is also called as “money snake” by the fan base. The reason for that is that this beast can be a pretty efficient source of OSRS gold. Assuming you kill Zulrah 40 times per hour, that’s going to net you over 3 million gold.

The basic strategy for dealing with Zulrah is simple. First, you’ll need to take note of what Zulrah will do. This will be determined by its color.

  • Green – it will attack with Ranged and spread toxic fumes over the area. Zulrah will also begin spawning snakelings that will appear in the area via white orbs. These are very easy to kill but will deal lots of damage so take care of them immediately.
  • Turquoise – it will attack with Magic and Ranged and spread toxic fumes in the area. Snakelings will also appear. Cast Protect from Magic to mitigate the damage.
  • Crimson – it will attack at your most recent spot. If you’re caught with a melee attack, you’ll be stunned.

The fight itself is pretty challenging. The good thing about money-making methods involving farming bosses is that you’ll eventually get used to fighting the monster. With the right build and strategy, you’ll be able to earn gold efficiently.

Opening Eclectic Imps

Opening eclectic impling jars can reward various items, including medium clue scrolls. These scrolls are essential for obtaining specific cosmetic items and the highly coveted ranger boots. This is what you should be after as it costs a staggering 33,419,501 coins. While this method is pretty much based on luck, it’s still worth doing on the chance that you’re able to get the ranger boots.

Even if you don’t get the boots, completing medium clue scrolls are still quite profitable, with the average reward valued at 167,459 coins.

You can buy Eclectic impling jars on the Grand Exchange for 4,658 coins each. When opened, each jar will give you an average of 2,048 coins in common loot and holds a 1/25 chance of containing a medium clue scroll.

If you factor in the value of the medium clue scroll loot, the average total loot from each eclectic impling jar amounts to 8,747 coins. This basically means an effective profit of 4,089 coins per jar. If you’ve unlocked high-requirement teleports and shortcuts, you can probably complete 20-25 medium clues per hour utilizing this method. However, it’s worth noting that while high-requirement teleports enhance efficiency, they are not at all required to be successful. Without them, you can still expect to complete around 10-15 clues per hour with decent profit.

If you aren’t able to get the ranger boots, the expected profit per hour drops to −438,207 coins. While an average player running this method at 20 medium clues per hour will take approximately 12 hours to obtain ranger boots, 5% of players report taking up to 38 hours to acquire their first pair. Due to the heavy reliance on a single rare loot item, we advise you to only  pursue this moneymaking method only if you have significant funds to invest.

Doing The Hallowed Sepulchre

The Hallowed Sepulchre is an Agility-based activity within Hallowvale. It’s available to do once you reach level 52 Agility. This is considered as the most profitable Skilling money making technique in OSRS. The goal is pretty simple, you’ll be scaling five floors using your Agility and you’ll start looting marked loot. Just be warned though, it’s also considered as one of the toughest in the game.

Assuming you’re able to loot all chests on the fourth and fifth floor of the Hallowed Sepulchre, you can earn over 2.1 million. Again, the good thing about this method is that you’re able to grow more accustomed to it over time. It’s also the perfect money-making method if you want to train Agility along the way.

Successfully looting all chests across floors 2-5, including the Grand Hallowed Coffin, without a token typically yields an average profit of 364,150.00 per run with the Ring of Endurance and 210,348 without it. This contrasts with an average profit of 335,113.00 per run with the Ring of Endurance and 181,311 without it, limited to completing only floors 4 and 5. This presents an increase of 29,037 per run, or roughly 174,222 per hour at a pace of 6 laps per hour.

Killing Nex (Duo)

Based on the OSRS Wiki, killing Nex in a two-man team is the most profitable farming method. You can expect to get over 20 million OSRS gold at max efficiency. However, this is considering that you and your friend can kill Nex 6 times per hour. More experienced duos can kill him 8 times per hour.

Unfortunately, this is one of the hardest tasks in the game. The requirements are pretty steep and if you reach this point in the game, there’s a good chance that you already have access to lots of other farming methods as well. Still, if you’re up for a challenge and lots of money, it’s still a viable method.

For the player contributing 50%, the unique drop rate is 1 in 86. For the player with the MvP bonus contributing 55%, the drop rate becomes 1 in 78.18. The probability of at least one of the two players receiving a unique drop per kill is 1 in 41.2.

Nex differs from other generals in the God Wars Dungeon by having her own chamber, the Ancient Prison. Accessing Nex requires completion of The Frozen Door miniquest and either using an ecumenical key or collecting 40 essence (which decreases with the completion of Combat Achievement tiers) from her followers. After obtaining enough essence, players can enter the boss room. Prior to confronting Nex, there’s a small secure area where Ashuelot Reis is located. Here, Ashuelot Reis serves as a banker, allowing players to adjust their gear and manage their inventory between kills.

Buy Gold

Perhaps one of the easiest ways to earn money in OSRS is to buy some in real life. If you buy OSRS gold, you’re going to heavily cut down on the time you spend doing any of the steps on this list. When buying gold from online sources, there are a few things that you need to be mindful of.

  1. Check Your Seller – There are a lot of websites out there that claim to sell legit OSRS gold. Of course, not all of them are safe to transact with. Make sure to do a lot of research before transacting with any seller online.
  2. Never Give Your Private Information – You don’t need to share any of your private information when transacting with sellers online. All they need is your account. As for your payment methods, it will be in a secure platform and they shouldn’t ask for your bank details directly.
  3. Study The Right Prices – The price of OSRS gold will vary from seller to seller but checking out each of what they offer should give you a pretty good idea of what the right price should be.
  4. Don’t Be Afraid To Ask Questions – If you have any friends who are playing OSRS, it might be a good idea to talk to them about buying gold. They might know good places where you can buy some. Better yet, they might even offer their gold to you instead.

To put it simply, you’ll need to put in a bit of work and research if you want to buy gold from others for OSRS. This work is way less compared to doing actual grinding in-game so it’s still worth it. Lastly, this isn’t against OSRS’ rules so if you’re afraid of getting banned, worry not.

A lot of your time will be spent on earning money in OSRS. The best way to get rich is to either buy your gold from others using real money or if you grind the right way by picking some of the methods above. In any case, we’re hoping that your money journey in the game will be fruitful!
