An individual with a basement full of vodka may be considered an alcoholic, but someone with a giant collection of wine is classy, and also may be my new best friend. After a long day at work or play, it’s rare to find a more relaxing beverage than that perfect glass of fine wine. Or, if it’s up your alley, a not so fine wine.

With the Summer season coming to a close, now is a great time to enjoy your favorite white wine before the air cools down and you start craving those deeps reds again. And if you’re anything like me, you just cannot handle the agony that comes with waiting for your wine to chill.

They come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and designs, but the usage is quite clear. With one of these little gadgets, you can chill your beverage without watering it down with the addition of ice. You can find a chilling carafe just about anywhere, and at nice and reasonable prices. My favorite, the Wine Enthusiast 2-Piece Carafe, is priced at $39.95 on Amazon. I like the look of this one, and can easily imagine myself on my friend’s back porch pouring a nice Riesling and enjoying a nice cheesy pizza.

If you are even more picky on the subject of temperature, look no further than this nifty wine thermometer that fits right onto the wine bottle itself. Attached like a belt around the bottle, the temperature can be determined in minutes. The thermometer ranges from 41 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit. and can be purchased here. And when you finally make the time to go on the picnic you’ve been planning every weekend since June, fear not the woes of a table-less environment.
