I don’t know about the weather where you are, but the season change has delivered bipolar weather and allergens galore in my neck of the woods. Left and right neighbors and coworkers are battling one of our most common enemies, the gunk. Sore throats, stuffed noses, and aching muscles at every turn, and this week it’s my turn.
Although I don’t exactly have the luxury of taking time off of work, my time spent at home has inspired me to take note of the things I’m lucky to have around when I’m sprawled half-dead on the couch. And even a few things I wish I had access to, and will probably purchase when I can.
Multiple Gadget Charging Station
When I’m quarantined in my home, the last thing I want is to lose touch with the outside world. A nifty gadget charging station like this helps to keep everything you need right at your fingertips, and fully juiced. With my iPhone in one hand and Macbook on my lap, I can endure the homebound sentence with just a tad more comfort.
Whether you’re running a fever or sick to your stomach, that bombshell head of hair of yours is bound to get in the way at some point during your illness. A really clever accessory to have around in such situations is a thick, adjustable headband. The thickness comes in handy for those with both short and long layers, and when you’re feeling warm or if you’re suffering from a splitting headache, the ability to adjust the grip is heaven sent. I recommend something like this one from Hipsy.
The quality of my sick days as increased dramatically due to the invention of home streaming entertainment. Whether you’re watching via gaming console, on your laptop, or on your smart phone, snuggling up in a comfy blanket with the practically endless world of Netflix is a grand improvement from the days of VHS. Especially now that Gilmore Girls is coming to instant streaming. Be still, my heart!
I’m not going to lie, I’ve only just recently returned to the world of baths. For the longest time, the idea of sitting around in a tub of water just seemed uncomfortable and dirty. BOY, WAS I WRONG! Soaking in the tub with a nice glass of wine and Netflix on the laptop is so relaxing. What I’ve noticed I’m missing is this drool worthy bath pillow. This baby is made of memory foam, it vibrates, and comes with a wireless remote for controlling the massage settings.
Robe up, ladies
Another luxury of adulthood that I’ve come to cherish is the ease of a comfy robe. Sure, my current robe has been with me for as long as I can remember, but I’d really love a couple of these cutesy comfy pieces from Jessica Simpson’s home line.
Now, my lovely Ladygeeks, get to bed and surround yourself with some helpful tools and gadgets to get you through the day. Enjoy, and get well soon.
