Not Everyone is Attracted To Tik Tok
The CEO of Reddit has some choice words for this Chinese technology product.
According to TechCrunch, the co-founder of Reddit went as far as to to state that Tik Tok is “fundamentally parasitic” this past Wednesday.
Parasitic? That’s quite a statement. What would make him think that?
Huffman noted at the event that he had reservations with TikTok.
He commented “maybe I’m going to regret this, but I can’t even get to that level of thinking with them”. “Because I look at that app as so fundamentally parasitic, that it’s always listening, the fingerprinting technology they use is truly terrifying, and I could not bring myself to install an app like that on my phone.”
“I actively tell people, ‘Don’t install that spyware on your phone,’” he would add a bit later.
Does he have point? If you happen to ask TikTok, they’d say no.
A TikTok representative commented to TechCrunch that “these are baseless accusations made without a shred of evidence.”
Still, this wasn’t the first time that experts have talked about TikTok in a negative and suspicious light.
