As a Hippy, I Just Got One of the COOLEST Gadgets I’ve Ever Owned

Okay, it’s well known that due to chronic pain, I’m a huge advocate for CBD, Delta-8, and marijuana products. I don’t care what any “experts” say, this plant has many benefits. As someone that has tried virtually every pain pill, topical cream, and other so-called pain relievers, the only thing that has given me any true relief is products containing one of these aspects of the hemp plant.

Unfortunately, unlike my wife, gummies and other edibles have never really worked for me. I don’t know if it’s my metabolism or some other body chemistry, but I’ve tried quite a few of the “strongest” ones and ended up thoroughly disappointed. So, my consumption of weed and CBD products is normally relegated to flower and topical options.

So, when I was asked if I wanted to review a LEVO II oil infuser, I figured I’d make some stuff for my wife and see what she thought. I had zero confidence that I’d be able to make something that I would enjoy.

To make sure that I was completely equipped to really give this thing a test drive, LEVO sent me their Candy Mixer and a Gummy Edibles Maker Kit with various flavors of gummy mix along with the LEVO II. Cool.. my wife loves gummies and we’ve only ever made butter and brownies and stuff.

The box arrives and it’s like Christmas for us. For me because I like gadgets and anything to do with “herbs,” and for her because edibles give her more relief than smokable and most topical products.

Here’s where it starts getting cool. The hardest part of this whole process was breaking up the herb. We found the perfect spot for them, plugged them in, read the instructions, and within minutes (after said herb was ready), we were ready.

Check it out – all you do is add your desired herb and set the LEVO II to Activate. This brings out all the goodness and while it takes a little bit, I assure you that it’s worth it and we’ll talk about that in a minute. Once the activation process is done, you add oil or butter (we used coconut oil), set it to Infuse, and let it sit for a couple of hours while it works its magic.

Next, you simply dispense the infused oil/butter into a container and you’re ready to use it as you please. Once ours was ready, it smelled absolutely fantastic and we couldn’t wait to try it out on something.

The first stop was the gummy maker and once again, it was SUPER easy. Simply follow the instructions on the package of whatever flavor of gummy mix you chose and after a few minutes, you’re ready to add the infused oil. The longest part of this process is filling the molds and then of course, you have to let them set for at least a few hours.

Well, we couldn’t have a delay in our testing of our new concoction, so we looked around to see what else we could use. Brownies!! Of course! Instead of using vegetable oil, we used our infused coconut oil, mixed it all up, and waited with bated breath as the aroma filled the kitchen.

You could definitely smell the herb under that delicious brownie scent and of course, that’s almost always music to my nose. After 20-minutes or so, we popped them out of the oven, gave them a few minutes to cool down, and dug in.

First off, they were delicious! There was a subtle undertone of the infused oil but it didn’t overpower the treat itself. I admit it, with my prior unluckiness with edibles, I downed 3 of them in hopes of getting the most from them.

Spoiler alert!

I don’t know how it happened or what the difference is between commercial products and what we made but for the first time ever, I got some of the effects I was looking for. To coin a phrase from the infamous Eric Cartman, “I’m seriously you guys.”

After about 45 minutes, I noticed that my back and neck pain had eased up and that I had an overall “body high.”

Wow! Okay, color me impressed. But was it a fluke or just wishful thinking?

I must experiment more!

So, the next evening, I try 3 of the homemade gummies that are now perfectly formed. Once again, a soft undertone of that wonderful herb but it doesn’t overpower the Strawberry Lemonade flavor of the gummy mix at all. And like the brownies, I was rather surprised when I started feeling the effects.

Sure, it was light but it was still working. This was unbelievable for me. I mean, the herb I used definitely wasn’t the strongest you can buy, it certainly wasn’t the weakest either. But here it was, giving me the benefits I had long sought.

Well, with all of that in mind, my wife decided she had to take this to the next level and see just how good it really was. So, she loves this stuff called couscous (I’d never heard of it before) and she has it for lunch fairly often. She mixes it up, adds in 3 spoonfuls of our secret ingredient, and LOVES the effects. She said it was GREAT and that she want to keep the oil on-hand.

And then she cranked it up a notch.

She put 5 spoonfuls in it the next day and let this serve as a warning, be careful how much you use. She was zonked hard for the rest of that day all the way until bedtime. I’m talking about like 9 hours’ worth of buzz here. Afterward, she said that was the highest she has ever been in her life.

Before you ask, no, I haven’t tried that much yet. But of course, I am going to as soon as I can. LOL

I think that one reason commercial edibles never did it for me is that from what I understand, a lot of the companies use leaves and other non-flower parts of the plant to make their oil and butter. Since the LEVO II enables you to use the herb you choose and that it does that all-important step of Activating it first, the infuser produces a quality product that surpasses the in-store choices.

And the thing is… one batch makes a BUNCH of oil. Since you only use a few tablespoons in almost any given recipe, the oil can make a decent amount of edibles. We’ve made a lot more gummies (we especially like the Tart Cherry gummy mix) and I’ll admit it, I made a batch with a good deal more oil than it calls for and made them my personal stash.

We’ve also tried butter-less cookies (the peanut butter ones were damn good) but I want to make butter next so that we can expand our homemade product line. Maybe I’ll do that this weekend.

The bottom line is, if you’re looking for a way to save money on edibles while getting more benefits than any of those options ever gave you anyway, you should consider checking out the LEVO II and Gummy Making Machine. I sincerely love ours and foresee us getting a lot of use out over it in the coming months and years.
