$100 Gets You $10,000 If Cocaine Bear Wins the Academy Award for Best Picture in March 2024
While most of the buzz in Hollywood these days is all about the ‘Barbenheimer Summer,’ Variety magazine has just published its 2024 96th Oscar predictions, and one instant classic, Cocaine Bear, did not make the cut. But that didn’t stop oddsmakers at BetUS.com from offering a 99-to-1 payout on the instant cult classic winning Best Picture on March 10, 2024.
Tim Williams, Director of Public Affairs for BetUS.com, said oddsmakers are “shocked” at how much money is being put down on Cocaine Bear. It’s not just a cult classic. It’s also a cult classic with gamblers. “While Oppenheimer (3/2), Barbie (10/1), and Killers of the Flower Moon (3/1) are topping many industry prediction lists in Hollywood, we are seeing far more money pouring into Cocaine Bear than we would have ever expected, given its longshot odds,” said Williams.
With the possibility of receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects, the comedy-horror film has been generating considerable buzz. Other longshots for Best Picture, according to oddsmakers, are Sound of Freedom (99/1), Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (99/1) and Elemental (99/1).
Cocaine Bear: Odds on Winning Worst Picture?
Cocaine Bear is also one of the top favorites (tied for second place for 80 for Brady) at 5/1 odds to win the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Picture.
