After years of Reboots, this feels like a Welcome Home to the original premise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise that is set in a dystopian future. We are taken on a journey across the past of the franchise with updated ideas and evolved story points that come alive after what seems to be decades of some serious changes to the World that TNMT once lived in.

The story itself is a puzzle for us to watch come together as we follow one of the Turtles who is seemingly the last Turtle standing. No longer a Teenager but a Bitter, Aged, and Driven MUTANT NINJA TURTLE. It is A Who done it story, in reveres, as we try to figure which turtle we are following and what went wrong to create this Dark Future World.

The storytelling draws in from page one and has you turning the pages almost faster then you can read them to find out more. Clues hidden within the pages leave you wondering about the world you have entered into, through familiar, so different at the same time.

The art tells the story in lockstep with the words that are filling us in. We are taken into a Dark version of Manhattan with hints and clues within every panel of the New World Order we are being invited into as readers. This feels like an Original TNMT story while also building a new unique look to this new story at the same time. An evolution of story and art that is built off that very 1st issue of TNMT and takes us into the future of the Franchise quite literally.

This is a Welcome throwback to exciting storytelling that feels nostalgic and fresh for fans of the franchise while offering a great jumping-on point for new readers. The pace and tone keeps you hooked in from page one to the very last page, where things come into focus and a twist leaves us demanding more. This is a story that will make waves and be remembered as a brave new direction for the not so Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
