Spice Things Up This Holiday Season

The holiday season is upon us and most of us are gearing up for lots of food, family, and holiday cheer. However, this time of year can also cause a lot of eye-rolling and indignation at the thought of facing yet another carbon copy of every holiday in recent memory.

The same food. The same people. The same ‘ole locations.

For some of us, it’s just plain BORING!

If you fall into that category, or you just want to try something different this year, you might want to try one of the options below to spice things up.

Gobble Gobble

Let’s be honest, ALL of us have encountered a dry-as-the-Sahara-desert turkey. Even the best of cooks can accidentally end up with a bird that tastes okay but is just too dry to really enjoy.

Furthermore, Thanksgiving turkeys are almost always prepared the same no matter whose house you’re dining at. Even if it comes out nice and juicy the fact is, it’s kind of boring.

Sure, it tastes good and all the fixings are always enjoyable, but it’s usually the same thing year after year.

To hell with tradition, it’s time to spice things up!

This year, blow everyone’s mind and change things up with a cajun turkey that’s not only nice and spicy, but it’s also deliciously tender and juicy. Alternatively, go off the rails and have a large BBQ spread or a variety of international cuisine.

There aren’t any rules when it comes to these holidays.

While some of your guests may balk at the change, it will be a holiday to remember. Especially if the food is delicious. In fact, it’s virtually assured that at least some of your guests will be thrilled with the change of pace.

A Change of Scenery

Just how many times have you celebrated Thanksgiving/Christmas at Grandma’s or Aunt Ruth’s? Just as the same ‘ole food can be quite boring, the repetition/tradition of gathering at a specific location every year is rather mundane.

While some of your family may raise an eyebrow or two, you should think about taking a trip to spice things up this holiday season.

Grab your significant other, pack your bags, and head off to somewhere you’ve never been. Rent a secluded cabin in the mountains of Colorado or go for broke and have Thanksgiving in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. Go to Ireland and rent a car so you can spend the holidays exploring the beauty of the country together.

Alternatively, you can go on a trip by yourself and have a holiday to remember.

Go to Amsterdam and enjoy a cannabis tour or visit the red light district for a little extracurricular activities. If you head to the U.K. and want to dabble in that sort of fun, you can always look into mature London escorts. Talk about spicing things up!

The point is, try somewhere different this year. Have a bucket list country you want to visit? DO IT!

Always wanted to get a little risqué? Now could be a perfect time.

You may be surprised at how invigorating it can be to celebrate the holidays somewhere new or doing something a bit outside of your normal comfort zone.

Get Upgraded

While games and consoles always get a lot of attention around the holidays, the metaverse’s popularity has grown exponentially of late. There are tons of GREAT Augmented Reality (AR) games such as Pokémon GO, Zombies, Run!, and Jurassic World Alive that turn your smartphone into a portal into immersive worlds. You can delve even deeper into fantasy with top-selling Virtual Reality (VR) games like Beat Saber, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, and Half-Life: Alyx.

It seemed a thing of fantasy not so long ago but technology has developed to the point where our very homes can be upgraded beyond traditional improvements. Not only do we have smartphones that are better than the computers many of us grew up with, you can literally upgrade virtually everything in your home.

Seriously.

There are smart showerheads, thermostats, faucets, refrigerators, door locks, lightbulbs, and on and on. If you have Google Home or Alexis, you can take these smart devices to an even higher level by setting up routines and schedules. Not only are they fun and convenient, some of them can even save you money on utility bills.

As you can see, it can not only be fun to spice up the holidays, it can be beneficial. Whether it’s by shaking up traditions or making new ones or embracing technology and improving your life overall, this holiday season is one to be enjoyed.
