Set the Mood for Valentines Day and Share Your Love for the Planet
Looking to have a great romantic evening this Valentine’s Day? If so, there’s a really good chance that you’re going to incorporate candles at least at some point during the celebration of your love. Well, we’ve found an option that you should definitely check out.
Meet Vim + Vigor, the Phoenix-based company that wants to help every couple set the perfect mood for Valentine’s Day this year. When the holiday is here and love is in the air, numerous people worldwide utilize candles for romantic candlelight dinners and setting “the mood” later in the evening.
However, few, if any, come close to the beauty and functionality of the products from the Vim + Vigor Candle Co. because they take things a few steps further than their competitors.
Natural Soy Meets Pure Copper, Steel, and Wood
Not only are their candles made from 100% natural soy wax with pure cotton wicks, but they also come in beautiful pure copper, stainless steel, or wooden containers. They are also perfect for upcycling and reusing and are available in a variety of fantastic scent combinations.
Kristin Boyd, the founder of Vim + Vigor Candle Co., said she chose pure copper, stainless steel, and natural wood containers “in hopes it might inspire others to reduce waste and repurpose the vessel after the candle burns.”
Founder Finds Purpose in Repurposing
Boyd started making candles in 2015 as a weekend project to salvage a cabinet full of half-burned candles. However, that passion for repurposing old materials and her desire to reduce waste as much as possible transformed this weekend hobby into a full-blown mission.
“I wanted to make a better candle.”
After over a year of researching and 100 test trials later, she not only created candles that fill the room with their aroma, unlike the majority of candles on the market today, they burn cleanly and evenly down to the last drop of wax.
“My passion for repurposing old materials is what sparked this labor of love, and it’s the reason I chose to use pure copper and natural wood containers as my candle vessel,” said Boyd. “I hope that it might inspire others to reduce waste and repurpose the vessel after the candle burns.”
Once the candles have melted away, simply freeze the vessel overnight and lightly chip away any small leftover wax remnants. Then, just lightly wash it with a bit of dish soap and hot water, and you’ll have a great-looking container that can be reused in any number of ways.
While that’s reason enough to add one or two to the Valentine’s Day supplies, Vim + Vigor Candle Co. also plants a tree for every purchase.
