Disney+ is Bringing More Marvel Content

Everyone is looking forward to the biggest show of 2021, WandaVision. Disney, however, for its part, that they will move it up to an earlier date in 2020.

Disney teased this big reveal, without a specific date, making marvel enthusiasts wonder if it is before or after other highly anticipated marvel series such as Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Most people are speculating that the change in dates is because Disney is looking forward to hitting that subscriber target.

Disney + Learns from HBO

Disney may just be taking a page out of HBO’s book. The streaming service saw quite several subscribers end their subscriptions after Game of Thrones ended. No streaming service wants to go through that fate and see their revenues decrease substantially. Remember that Disney+ has shows like Monsters at Work, and the Return of Lizzie McGuire will be a part of the line up this year, but still, Disney executives won’t rest. They know one fact, these shows are not purely catering to the enormous Marvel fanbase, and Disney knows this.

Disney+ and Marvel

Marvel has already announced that the sequel of Doctor Strange will have a massive connection to the WandaVision series, which means WandaVision may give fans more clues as to the happenings of the Multiverse of Madness.

Don’t worry, WandaVision will star Paul Bettany as Vision, and Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch. Fans don’t know precisely where the story picks up after the events of Avengers Endgame or whether it is a prequel to Infinity War

The Mandalorian

Disney+ launched the streaming service with the strategic release of The Mandalorian, which garnered the streaming service 10 million subscribers in only 24 hours. Since Disney has already shared these numbers, we can only assume they are hoping for a more towering figure in 2020. Well, what better way to do that than with the Marvel franchise and giving the people what they want?

As the first seasons of the Mandalorian series came to a close, Netflix’s Witcher, took off and gained a much wider audience, making it the top in-demand show. At the same time, Disney+ does not have anything to counter with immediately.

The streaming wars are here. Producers are getting their content ready. Audiences are getting their popcorn ready. 2020 is going to be a fascinating year for content with many production sets flexing their muscles to create the best compelling content and retain viewership across the board.
