Learn How iOS 9 Is Destroying Your Wallet
Apple products can be pretty amazing and convenient in ways Android products never are. But sometimes, in their attempt to make everything super easy for you, they end up wrecking your bank account balance instead.
The new iOS 9 update is no exception.
The Apple website promises that with this new update you’ll get to use all new features like Split View, Picture in Picture, and Slide Over. It also states that Siri will be smarter and more proactive (no word yet on increased levels of sassiness.)
These enhancements are supposed to make your everyday life even easier. To make your day-to-day simpler and to make your iPhone your best manservant yet.
“And improvements at the foundation of the operating system enhance performance, battery life, and security. The more you do with iOS 9, the more you’ll wonder how you ever did without it.” – Apple Website
The “Enhancement” That Will Eat Up Your Money
It’s called WiFi Assist, and it will send your cellphone bill through the roof — if you have a limited data plan.
This little app is on by default when you upgrade to iOS 9. Now, while it has good intentions, it has really bad consequences. WiFi Assist will automatically switch you back onto your 4G if it thinks the WiFi you’re on is loading your cat videos and Jennifer Lawrence photos too slow. Of course, that means your data usage will jump and so will your bill.
Dammit Jennifer, do you think I’m made of money??
