4 Things to Do While in Quarantine

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak sweeping the world, people are increasingly understanding the gravity of the situation. Since social distancing is considered to be the most effective solution for this pandemic, more and more people are embracing their quarantine as the new reality.

If you identify as a responsible person, then you are also staying indoors. However, even as you do your part, being stuck at home can prove to be quite boring.

But it doesn’t have to be.

By finding fun things to do at home, you can fight off the boredom that can come with this newfound confinement. Here are 4 things to ensure quarantining at home doesn’t become a drag.

1. Indulge in Online Gaming

If you are keeping in touch with the outside world, then you must be noticing video game-related posts from the who’s who of social media. Whether you are on Facebook or Twitter, Snapchat or Tiktok, everyone is talking about finding solace in the wonderful world of online games.

Why won’t they? With the availability of online gaming, you can now enjoy new and classic titles right at your home. From Animal Crossing to Mario Kart, and from poker to slots at online avenues such as casinochan, you can choose any title you like in order to make the most out of your free time.

With the virtual world at your fingertips, you can curb the need to go out in a way that’s fun, easy, and full of memorable experiences. What else can you want from a quarantine hobby, really?

2. Try Out New Bread Recipes

Another trend that is emerging through this uncharted territory is the marvelous trial and error of baking bread.

Thanks to online recipe sites and baking communities, everyone and their mother is currently trying to be an adept baker. Some are trying out their hand at banana bread, while others are getting into sourdough starters. Some are trying to rejuvenate classic recipes, while others are focused on more innovative takes.

Either way, it provides you with a fun way to try out something new without wasting a large amount of food resources. As long as you know your way around a  kitchen, you can have plenty of fun with this timeless tradition.

3. Make Use of Digital Communication

Social distancing doesn’t mean that you cut off all contact from loved ones. Even as you are physically distancing from others to keep safe from COVID-19, you can still share your day to day updates through the power of digital communication.

Whether you enjoy the feel of seeing your family through video calls or if you are more comfortable on voice calls, make it a habit to check on one another on a daily basis. You don’t have to constantly be on your phone. Take it at your own pace to make sure you aren’t worn out by constant communication.

During this time, this practice can fulfill your social needs while also ensuring that you do not break your quarantine out of loneliness.

4. Workout at Home

What’s even worse? The gyms are also closed. But that doesn’t mean that you should lose the will to stay fit. In fact, it’s more important than ever to ensure that you are in good shape in order to prevent underlying health conditions.

Fortunately, virtual classes or even basic equipment at home allow you to get your required cardio and a minimalist form of your usual workout.

If you have a personal trainer, this would be the time to ask them for at-home exercises. And if you have everyday equipment such as jump ropes at your home, you can use them to get a good workout without taking a step over your threshold.

These practices ensure that you are getting the most out of your free time while quarantining at home, and do not find the urge to break physical distancing. Remember, as long as each one of us does our part, we will all be able to defeat this deadly pandemic in the long run.
